Saturday 19th June v North Holmwood

On a day of ‘windy northerlies’, Claygate lost the toss and were asked to bowl at the lovely Inholms Lane ground, North Holmwood.

The home side quickly raced to 48 from 10 overs due to some loose bowling and a few streaky shots opening the innings Harrison top scored with a fine 52.
 

But the introduction of Henry Vincent (2-20 off 6 overs),  Vikram Prabhakar (2-32 off 13 overs) and the return spell of Simon Pitt (3-32 off13 overs) put the brakes. North Holmwood losing their last wicket in the 48th over.  
 

The Claygate innings never got going - a replay of a number of performances last year. The batsmen went for their shots but did not set themselves up for a long  innings. From 71 for 3 after 12 overs, the innings slowly subsided to 131 all out after 30 overs. Lance Mayer top scored with 37. Goff bowled unchanged from one end and bagged 7-50 off 15 overs. 
 

This disappointing result leaves the Claygate Ist XI in search of consistent form
