Sri Lanka has a lot of cricket. 25 kilometres down road is the new one day
international ground at Dambula, 20 kilometres further is Kuranagala where we
played in 1995, most of the large hotels in the area have/had their own cricket
pitches. The standard will be high, we will struggle... Suranjan will be
attempting to organise some games for the over 40's.
Cost - £1000 per person based on two sharing. It is expected that we shall have our own transport (vehicle with driver) for the length of our stay. Price includes half board - dinner, bed and breakfast. Only extras lunch, drinks and souvenirs (sapphires and rubies).
This is
total relaxation holiday with cricket thrown in, there is nothing to do there
except cricket, wild-life, relaxation and culture. This is probably the best
hotel in the world at this price, surrounded by rapidly diminishing jungle/flora
and fauna with ancient cities, citadels, and Buddhist sites enough to keep
Indiana Jones happy. The weather can be wet, but it will still be warm, and
there are mosquitoes. No seaside, no kiss me quick hats, should be 27c/80f.
Please send a refundable £100 deposit per person to Andy Spector, payable to CCC.
Once we have enough players then you will be informed that the flights will be
booked and the deposit no longer refundable, the balance payable by 1st November
2008. Number of games will depend on number of players.
